Transaltion and adaptation of organizational commitment questionnaire

Abstract:

Mým cílem v této práci bylo najít vhodnou metodu k měření závazku vůči organizaci, která by byla použitelná v českém prostředí, jelikož žádná taková v současnosti dostupná není. Na základě srovnání aktuálně dostupných používaných škál jsem pro tento účel zvolila KUT škálu od autorů Klein a spol. (2014). Pomocí více překladatelů a zpětného překladu byla vytvořena česká verze škály, která byla ověřována pomocí kognitivních interview. Následně proběhla testovací fáze pomocí internetového dotazníku. Za použití analýzy hlavních komponent bylo zjištěno, že faktorová struktura odpovídá jedno-dimenzionálnímu pojetí konstruktu. Byly také zkoumány vztahy konstruktu měřeného KUT škálou s jinými konstrukty, které přinesly důkazy o konvergentní validitě (ve vztahu s pracovním výkonem a tendencí opustit organizaci) a diskriminační validitě (ve vztahu s tendencí opustit organizaci a pracovní spokojeností) metody. Veškeré analýzy byly prováděny také zvlášť pro obě pohlaví, různé typy pracovního úvazku a věkové kategorie. Tyto analýzy prokázaly, že metoda je použitelná pro všechny zkoumané skupiny. Česká verze KUT škály byla označena jako reliabilní a validní metoda k měření závazku vůči organizaci a doporučena k dalšímu testování.

Abstract:

The aim of this study was finding a suitable method for measuring organisational commitment which can be applied in the Czech working environment. The reason for this comes from the abscence of such method in Czech language. After detailed comparison of methods currently available for use I decided to choose the KUT scale from Klein et al. (2014). The adaptation proces was made using three versions of translation from three different translators. Unified version was then back-translated and subsequently adjusted. The pre-final version was tested in cognitive interviews with satisfactory outcomes. Final version was part of the internet research. The results of principal component analysis showed that the factor structure matches the unidi-mensional conception of the construct by Klein et al. (2014, 2012). Also the relatioships with other constructs were measure for testing the construct validity of the Czech version of KUT scale.Correlation analysis gave the evidence of diskriminant validity from the constructs of job satisfaction and turnover intention and also convergent validity with work performance and turnover intention. Another analysis were made for both genders, different types of employment and age categories, respectively. These analysis showed that Czech version of the method can be considered as a suitable measure for all mentioned groups. The Czech adaptati-on of KUT scale was found to be a reliable and valid method for measuring organisational commitment and reccomendation for further testing were made.
