The state-building in Afghanistan and the Bonn process

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá budováním státu v Afghánistánu v období Bonnského procesu. První část práce se věnuje teoretickému vymezení pojmů: selhávající státy a budování státu. V druhé části se práce soustředí na cíle vymezené Bonnskou deklarací a jejich následnou implementaci. Tato část obsahuje také kritickou analýzu, která poukazuje na problematické aspekty specifických cílů a implementace v kontextu budování státu v Afghánistánu. Poslední část práce slouží jako hodnocení této iniciativy v návaznosti na teorie budování státu a míru selhání Afghánistánu.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis is addressing state-building in Afghanistan during Bonn process. First part is focused on theoretical definitions of failing states and state-building. In the second part the thesis is concentrated on goals defined in the Bonn agreement and the following implementation of these goals. This part also contains critical analysis that states problematic aspects of specific goals and the implementation in the context of state-building in Afghanistan. The last part of the thesis serves as an evaluation of this initiative in connection with the theory of state-building and state failure in Afghanistan.
