Methods for development of child reading in the Czech Republic and possibilities of cooperation among individual actors on support of this project

Abstract:

Tato magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá dětským čtenářstvím v České republice a spoluprácí jednotlivých subjektů na jeho popularizaci. Soustředí se na subjekty, které se na formování malého čtenáře podílí nejintenzivněji – veřejné knihovny a základní školy, připomíná i roli rodiny. V teoretické části zmiňuje základní pojmy a fakta o dětském čtenářství, subjekty, které dětské čtenářství ovlivňují, a metody, které se při práci s dětským čtenářem uplatňují. Praktická část je zaměřena na skutečný stav spolupráce zmíněných subjektů v této oblasti a mapuje v praxi užívané metody působení. Praxe českých knihoven při práci s dětským čtenářem je prezentována na modelu Knihovny Jiřího Mahena v Brně (KJM). Důležitou součástí práce je výzkum týkající se podpory dětského čtenářství na brněnských základních školách a jejich spolupráce s KJM. Na základě výsledků výzkumu i poznatků z praxe jsou pak navržena určitá zlepšení a nové možnosti vzájemné spolupráce.

Abstract:

The presented master thesis deals with issue of child reading in the Czech Republic and cooperation of various actors in its popularization. The thesis focuses on actors that participate on shaping of child readers the most intensely – public libraries and elementary schools and it also emphasizes the role of a family. Firstly, in the theoretical part it defines the fundamental concepts and facts about child reading, actors that affect it and the methods that are applying on the work with child readers. The practical part focuses on current state of cooperation among these actors in this area and searches for methods used in practice. The practical work of Czech libraries with a child reader is presented by example of Jiří Mahen library in Brno (KJM). The important part of presented work deals with research of support of child reading in a framework of elementary schools in Brno and their cooperation with Jiří Mahen Library. Based on results of research and practical experiences the thesis presents possible improvements and new possibilities for mutual cooperation.
