Laboratory Diagnosis of Invasive Fungal Infection

Abstract:

V této bakalářské práci se věnuji shrnutí mikrobiologických a molekulárních diagnostických metod určených pro detekci invazivních fungálních infekcí způsobených rody Aspergillus a Candida. Tyto infekce jsou závažnou infekční komplikací nejen u nemocných imunokompromitovaných nádorovým onemocněním nebo HIV – pozitivitou, ale v poslední době také u nemocných dlouhodobě hospitalizovaných na jednotkách intenzivní péče, po těžkých chirurgických zákrocích apod. V porovnání s bakteriálními infekcemi je jejich výskyt méně častý, nicméně jejich incidence narůstá a jsou spojeny s vysokou mortalitou.

Abstract:

In this thesis I devote to a summary of the microbiological and molecular diagnostic methods for detection of invasive fungal infections caused by genus of Aspergillus and Candida. These infections are serious infectious complications, not only in imunocompromised cancer or HIV – positive patients, but recently also in long – term hospitalized patients in intensive care units, after serious surgery, etc. In comparsion with bacterial infections, their occurence is less frequent, neverrthless their incidence has been increasing and they are asociated with hight mortality.
