Interaction of the slope and fluvial processes, on an example of active slope deformation in the Satina River Valley

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce bylo zjistit, jaká je interakce svahové deformace a koryta toku Satiny a také kdy došlo k aktivaci této svahové deformace. Vodní tok Satina protéká flyšovým pásmem Vnějších Západních Karpat, tedy územím s geologickými, morfometrickými a klimatickými podmínkami vhodnými pro vznik svahových procesů. V údolí Satiny bylo provedeno geomorfologické mapování s důrazem na kontakt sesuvu s korytem toku. Dále proběhl průzkum korytové morfologie, měření zrnitosti korytových sedimentů a geometrie koryta, inventarizace říčního dřeva a v neposlední řadě odběr 12 - ti vzorků vrtných jader ze smrku ztepilého (Picea abies) pro dendrogeomorfologickou analýzu aktivity svahové deformace. Sesuv způsobil částečné zahrazení koryta vodního toku, tím došlo k zúžení a k vytlačení toku z původního směru. V úsecích koryta, kde nedochází k interakci se sesuvem, má koryto Satiny odlišnou morfologii a šířku, než v úseku, kde k interakci se sesuvem dochází. V úseku nad sesuvem se vyskytuje kaskádovité koryto, které v kontaktní zóně sesuv/koryto pozvolna přechází na koryto step - pool a příčné stupně jsou tvořeny akumulaci větších klastů společně s mrtvým říčním dřevem. V úseku pod sesuvem koryto step - pool pokračuje, ale zde už příčné stupně jsou tvořeny pouze akumulaci větších klastů a dále po proudu dochází k přechodu na kaskádovité koryto. K sesuvné události došlo v roce 1997, kdy denní úhrn srážek dosahoval 233,8 mm. V současnosti se sesuv jeví jako neaktivní, tudíž nemá vliv na korytové sedimenty.

Abstract:

The aim of the diploma thesis was to investigace the interaction of slope deformation and Satina river and when this slope deformation occured. The Satina river flows the flysch zone of the Outer Western Carpatian. This is area with geological, morphometric and climatic condition environment, suitable for the formation of slope deformations. A geomorphologic mapping was carried out with the emphasis on the contact of landslide with channel in the Satina valley. Then followed identification of the channel-reach morfology, measurement grain-size of channel sediment and geometry of channel, inventorying woody debris. Next, 12 sample of cores were taken from Picea abies for dendrogeomorphological analysis of slope deformation activity. The landslide caused a partial block off channel. The channel was a narrowing and push flow out of the original course. In sections of the channel where there is no interaction with the landslide, the Satina has a different morphology and width than in the section where the interaction with landslide exist. In the section above landslide occur cascade channel, which in the concat zone of the landslide/channel slowly passes to the step - pool channel and transversal steps are formed by the accumulation of larger clasts and woody debris. In the section beneath landslide, step - pool channel continues, but transversal steps are formed by only the accumulation of larger clasts. Next downstream there is a cascade channel. The landslide was formativ in 1997, when the extreme daily precipitation reached 233.8 mm. At the present, the landslide appeal to be inactive. The landslide does not affect on the channel sediment.
