Positioning of the Patient in Intensive Care Focused on the Prone Position

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá správným polohováním pacienta a jeho důležitostí. Přestože se o nezbytnosti polohování učí na všech typech zdravotnických škol, je třeba si neustále ho opakovat a zlepšovat se v něm, protože je to jeden z klíčových aspektů. Kvalitní polohování dokáže pacientovi zachránit život, nebo zkrátit dobu hospitalizace. Tato práce je zaměřena na pronační polohu, protože se tato poloha často používá u pacientů s onemocněním covid-19, které v posledních letech postihlo všechny státy Země. Toto onemocnění napadá plíce, a proto je tato poloha indikovaná stejně jako u pacientů s různými formami syndromu akutní dechové tísně. Užití této polohy je popsáno jak v teoretické části, tak na kazuistikách, kde je popsána jedna metoda navíc, kterou nelze dohledat v odborné literatuře a lze použít jako „rescue“ metoda. Práce dokazuje, jak je důležité správně polohovat pacienty.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the correct positioning of the patient and importance of positioning. Although the need for positioning is taught to all types of medical schools, it needs to be constantly repeated and improved in it, because it is one of the key aspects. Good positioning can save the patient's life or shorten the hospital stay. This work is focused on the pronation position, because this position is often used in patients with covid-19, which has affected all countries of the Earth in recent years. The disease affects the lungs and therefore this position is indicated as in patients with various forms of acute respiratory distress syndrome. The use of this position is described both in the theoretical part and in the case studies, where one additional method is described, which cannot be traced in the professional literature and can be used as a "rescue" method. The work proves how important it is to position patients correctly.
