Slavonian Epopee by Alfons Mucha in Moravský Krumlov

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na Slovanskou epopej od Alfonse M. Muchy, ktrá je umístěna na zámku v Moravském Krumlově. Na začátku se tato práce zabývá životem autora, vznikem obrazů, důvod, proč a kde obrazy vznikly s ohledem na své velké rozměry, historií zámku v Moravském Krumlově. Poté pokračuje vlastní historií expozice, vysvětlením, proč je Slovanská epopej v M. Krumlově, když ji po svém vzniku autor věnoval Praze a sleduje pohnuté osudy obrazů, než se ocitly vystavené a zrestaurované v zámeckých sálech M. Krumlova. Dále je zde stručný popis obrazů, údaje o návštěvnosti za posledních 15 let. V závěru práce se nabízí otázka nad budoucností této expozice, protože Galerie hlavního města Prahy usiluje o přestěhování obrazů do Prahy.

Abstract:

The Bachelor thesis is focused on a Slavonian Epopee by Alfons M. Mucha, which is placed in a manor house in Moravsky Krumlov. The first part of the thesis is focused mainly on the Alfons Mucha biography and the story of pictures creation, why and where were these pictures created in the light of their huge size. The history of the manor house in Moravsky Krumlov is also mentioned in the first part of the thesis. The second part of the thesis describes history of the exposition and explains why are pictures placed in Moravsky Krumlov - because Alfons Mucha originally donated the epopee to Prague. This section describes exiting fates of the pictures before the epopee was exposed after renovation in halls of the manor house in Moravsky Krumlov. Thesis also includes brief description of the pictures and data about visit rate in last 15 years. There is opened a question about the future of the exposition in Moravsky Krumlov in the end of the work, because National Gallery in Prague attempts to move epopee to Prague.
