Ellipse Detection in Digital Images

Anotácia:

Cieľom tejto práce je neimplementovať dve algoritmy na detekciu elíps v 2D digitálnych obrazoch. Metódu používajúcu maticu susedností ktorej autormi sú Cai Meng et al. a metódu používajúcu Line segment detector ktorej autormi sú Changsheng Lu et al. Ďalším cieľom práce je kvantitatívne a kvalitatívne porovnať tieto metódy so zameraním na čas, využitie pamäte a presnosť.

Abstract:

The focus of this thesis is to implement two recently published ellipse detectors based on edge linking, arc adjacency matrix based ellipse detector (AAMBED) [2] and arc support based detector (ASBED) [1] using C++ and utilizing the OpenCV library. Evaluate and mutually compare them on both real and synthetic images, focusing on execu- tion time, accuracy and memory consumption. The results of the tests show that AAMBED achieves higher recall than the ASBED with the downside of higher noise sensitivity.
