Changes in the content of selected milk components in relation to the age at first calving of Holstein dairy cows in a specific farm

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá analýzou dat souvisejících s věkem při prvním otelení jalovic holštýnského plemene. Teoretická část popisuje produkci mléka, obsahových složek a jejich syntézu v mléčné žláze. Zabývá se také růstem a vývinem jalovic, na kterém věk prvního otelení závisí. Vliv věku při prvním otelení byl analyzován ze souboru dat stáda dojnic na první laktaci z konkrétní farmy a výsledky byly porovnávány s jinými studiemi na toto téma. Sběr dat do praktické části proběhl v konkrétním podniku na Vysočině, který se zabývá chovem holštýnského skotu. Sledovanými parametry byly produkce mléka a obsahové složky mléka, konkrétně tuk a bílkoviny. Data byla zpracována a vyhodnocena v programu MS Excel a Statistica CZ. Z výsledku analýzy bylo zjištěno, že nejlepším věkem pro první otelení je věk mezi 23,1 a 24 měsícem. Dojnice v této skupině měly nejvyšší užitkovost i obsah tuku v mléce. Obsah bílkovin se napříč sledovanými skupinami otelenými v různém věku průkazně nelišil.

Abstract:

This work deals with the analysis of data related to age at first calving of Holstein heifers. The theoretical part describes milk production, content components and their synthesis in the mammary gland. It also deals with the growth and development of heifers, on which the age of first calving depends. The effect of age at first calving was analyzed from a data set of a dairy herd on first lactation from a particular farm and the results were compared with other studies on the subject. Data collection for the practical part took place in a specific enterprise in Vysočina, which deals with the breeding of Holstein cattle. The monitored parameters were milk production and milk content components, specifically fat and protein. Data were processed and evaluated in MS Excel and Statistica CZ. From the result of the analysis, it was found that the best age for the first calving is between 23.1 and 24 months. Dairy cows in this group had the highest productivity and milk fat content. The protein content did not significantly differ across the monitored groups calving at different ages.
