Abstract:

V této magisterské diplomové práci jsme se zaměřili na vývoj řeckého nástěnného malířství, pozorovatelný na dochovaných ukázkách řeckých maleb. Většina maleb, které máme k dispozici, přežila v prostředí, které je chránilo před okolními vlivy, jako stély z Demetrias byly zazděné v hradbách města nebo nástěnné malby z hrobek z antické Makedonie, Alexandrie, Paesta ad. se zachovaly díky nanesení mohyly, která zajišťovala stálou vlhkost. Jediné malby, které se zachovaly ze 7. st. př. n. l., pocházejí z terakotových metop Apollónových chrámů v Thermu (mytologické scény) a z kýmy chrámu v Kalydónu (závod koňských spřežení) v Aitólii. Nalezli jsme na nich podobnosti i rozdíly s technikou vázového malířství té doby. Techniku korinthského vázového malířství můžeme pozorovat i na dřevěných malovaných pinacích z Pitsy u Sikyonu z poloviny 6. st. př. n. l. Z klasického 5. st. př. n. l. známe pouze nástěnné malby-fresky z "Hrobky skokana do vody" z řecké kolonie v Paestu. Posledních 40 let vykopávek v oblasti antické Makedonie, v lokalitách severovýchodního Řecka jako je Vergina, Lefkádie, Dion, Pella a další, přineslo mnoho významných ukázek nástěnných maleb z období 4.-2. st. př. n. l. Nejskvělejší ukázky řeckého malířství pocházejí z hrobek v oblasti Verginy (první hlavní město antické Makedonie Aigai). Jelikož se jedná o významné pohřebiště a hlavně naleziště bohatých malovaných hrobek ze 4. st. př. n. l., věnovali jsme této lokalitě zvláštní pozornost. Náměty mnoha těchto raně helénistických maleb vykazují vlivy z Východu, z Alexandrova tažení. Dále zde nalézáme vržené stíny, perspektivní krácení, stínování a polykleitovské postoje.

Abstract:

In this master thesis we have focused on surviving examples of Greek painting. Most of the paintings we have available today have survived in an environment that is protected against environmental influences. For example the stelae of Demetrias were walled up in the city walls or wall paintings from the tombs of ancient Macedonia, Alexandria, Paestum and others have been preserved by applying the mounds, which provided constant humidity. The only paintings that have survived from the 7th century B.C. come from the terracotta metopes in the temples of Apollo in Thermos (mythological scenes) and from the cyma of the temple in Calydon (horse race) in Aitolia. On these we found similarities as well as differences in the technique with the vase painting of that period. The technique of the vase painting from Korinth can also be seen on painted wooden pinakes in Pitsa near Sikyon from the middle of the 6th century B.C. From the classical 5th century B.C. we only know frescoes of the "Tomb of the Diver" from the Greek colony of Paestum. The last 40 years of excavations in the area of ancient Macedonia, in areas of north-eastern Greece such as Vergina, Leucadia, Dion, Pella and others, have brought many significant examples of wall paintings from the period of the 4th to 2nd century B.C. Particular attention was paid to Vergina region, where the first major city of ancient Macedonians, Aigai, was situated. Three tombs containing paintings of exceptional quality were hiding here under the Great Tumulus. "Tomb of Persephone" (named after a marvelous painting with theme Abduction of Persephone) is by some scientists considered to be the resting place of Philip II., his wife Kleopatra and their infant (all murdered in 336 B.C.). Tomb II, called "Tomb of Philip II.", painted with a large hunting scene on the façade, has long been regarded to as the tomb of Philip II. of Macedon. However a growing body of evidence for a later date rests is the architectural elements of the tomb (barrel-vault), frieze on its façade (royal lion hunt, bear hunt with one Oriental) and later dating of its ceramic vessels. All this evidence suggests a date in the last quarter of the fourth century. A view that is dominating now is that the tomb´s occupants were Philip III. Arrhidaeus, the son of Philip II., and his wife Adea Eurydike. Themes for many of these early Hellenistic paintings show influences from the East, from Alexander's Quest. Further we can find drop shadows, perspective reduction, shading, contrapposto etc.
