Beyond the binary. Experiences of non-binary people within the health and psychological care in Czech Republic

Abstract:

The research diploma thesis deals with the experiences of non-binary people within the context of health and psychological care in Czech Republic. The study aims to explore individual experiences with professionals and their impact on the lives of non-binary individuals. Using semi-structured interviews, it also investigates the inner experience of gender identity and identifies pivotal events that stimulated the development of a non-binary identity. The findings from this work could serve as a basis for the implementation of more inclusive approaches in the field of health and psychological care for non-binary clients in the Czech Republic.

Abstract:

Magisterská diplomová práca sa zaoberá skúsenosťami nebinárnych ľudí v kontexte zdravotnej a psychologickej starostlivosti v Česku. Jej cieľom je preskúmať individuálne skúsenosti s odborníkmi a ich dopady na životy nebinárnych jedincov. Pomocou kvalitatívnych rozhovorov taktiež exploruje vnútorné prežívanie genderovej identity a identifikuje udalosti, ktoré podnietili formovanie nebinárnej identity. Výsledky tejto práce by mohli slúžiť ako základ pre implementáciu inkluzívnejších prístupov v oblasti zdravotnej a psychologickej starostlivosti pre nebinárnych ľudí v Česku.
