Archaeological finds as the evidence of the Slavic paganism in the East-Central Europe

Abstract:

This assignment addresses the issue, which arises during interpretations of archaeological artifacts with the expected iconic significance. Specifically, it will address the artefacts regarded as of Slavic origin, which were found in the central Europe. The aim of this work is to clarify the complexity of the process, which results in linking the theories from studies of religion to archaeological theories and findings. The main objective will be to attempt to combine the theoretical knowledge of Slavic paganism with specific scenes appearing on archaeological artifacts.

Abstract:

Táto práca ma za úlohu rozobrať problematiku, ktorá vzniká pri interpretáciách archeologických artefaktov s predpokladaným kultovým významom. Konkrétne sa bude zaoberať artefaktami považovanými za slovanské, ktoré pochádzajú z územia strednej Európy. Snahou tejto práce je priblížiť človeku zložitosť procesu, ktorý vzniká pri prepájaní religionistických teórií s archeologickými teóriami a nálezmi. Hlavným cieľom bude snaha spojiť teoretické poznatky o slovanskom pohanstve s konkrétnymi výjavmi nachádzajúcimi sa na archeologických artefaktoch.
