Tato práce zpracovává rozdíly mezi obecnou a specializovanou certifikací anglického jazyka ve Spojeném království. Rozdíly jsou nastíněny na C2 Proficiency (certifikát obecného anglického jazyka) a Test of Legal English Skills Advanced (certifikát specializovaného anglického jazyka). Tato práce si klade za cíl zjistit, zda jsou tyto certifikáty, potažmo typy certifikace, efektivně zaměnitelné. Činí tak porovnáváním jejich praktického účelu, teoretického cíle, cílové skupiny, poskytovatelů a obsahu.

Abstract:

This thesis concerns the differences between the general and specialized English language certification developed in the United Kingdom. The differences are illustrated on C2 Proficiency (general English language certificate), and the Test of Legal English Skills Advanced (specialized English language certificate). The thesis aims to investigate whether these certificates, and the two fields of certification respectively, are efficiently interchangeable. This is done by contrasting the purpose, objectives, target demographics, providers, and content of the certificates.
