Motherhood of women with handicap

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na těhotenství a mateřství žen s tělesným postižením. Cíle práce je zmapovat, jak ženy s postižením plánují své mateřství, jak jej prožívají a zda existuje vhodná forma podpory těmto ženám. Práce obsahuje teoretickou a výzkumnou část. V teoretické části se věnuji problematice zdravotního postižení a sociálním aspektům, které se k němu váží. Krátce popisuje i problematiku sexuality, partnerství a mateřství osob s postižením. Vzorek kvalitativního výzkumného šetření pak tvořilo osm žen s tělesným postižením, které si byly svého postižení vědomy před založením vlastní rodiny, a žijí na území České republiky. Závěrem výzkumné části je prezentace výsledků provedeného šetření, které vystihují společné znaky a zkušenosti matek s postižením.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on pregnancy and motherhood of women with disabilities. The aim is to map out how women with disabilities plan their motherhood as her experience and whether there is an appropriate form of support for these women. The work includes theoretical and research part. The theoretical part deals with disability issues and social aspects, which are linked to it. Briefly discusses the issues of sexuality, motherhood and partnerships of people with disabilities. A sample of qualitative research then consisted of eight women with disabilities who have been aware of their disability before founding their own family, and live in the Czech Republic. Finally, research is presenting the results of survey that describe the common characteristics and experiences of mothers with disabilities.
