(Super)naturalness of bees

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na včely a jejich přirozenost, které slouží autorce za inspiraci. Je tvořena dvěma částmi teoretickou a praktickou. V teoretické části je vývoj zobrazování včel v průběhu historie, jejich význam v kultuře a symbolickém pojetí. Autorka zde uvádí, jak byly vnímány a popisovány v různých dobách a od různých autorů. Závěr je věnován včelím tancům a tomu, jakým způsobem se včely mezi sebou dorozumívají. Navazující praktická část je tvořena kolekcí obrazů inspirovaných včelami a jejich nadpřirozeností. Soubor děl byl vytvořen kombinací klasických technik jako je malba, ale byla využita i opravdová hmyzí těla a včelí produkty.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is pointed to the bees and their naturalness, the author's inspiration. There are two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is about the evolution of imaging of the bees in the course of history, their meaning in the culture and their symbolism. The author presents how they were perceived and described in different epochs and by different authors. The end is dedicated to the dance of the honey bees and to the way they communicate within each other. Following practical part is made by the collection of paintings inspired by honey bees and their supernaturalness. The collection of work has been created by a combination of classical techniques as painting, but there has also been used true insects bodies and bee products.
