Weakening or prosperity of superpower ?

Abstract:

První část práce obsahuje kapitoly, které se mimo jiné věnují názorům předních ekonomů, sociologů a politologů na ekonomický vývoj Spojených států. Jsou zde shrnuty kořeny růstu Spojených států a dále sociologické výstupy geografických a kulturních předpokladů na území USA. Ve druhé části práce analyzuji jednotlivé makroekonomické fundamenty, které ovlivňují vývoj americké ekonomiky a dolaru. Rozeberu zde platební bilanci, hrubý domácí produkt, peněžní zásobu, veřejné finance a v neposlední řadě daně. Třetí část obsahuje rozbor ekonomiky USA z hlediska příčin a dopadů současných ekonomických problémů a to zejména hypotéční krize a stoupající ceny surovin. Čtvrtá část se věnuje samotnému vývoji amerického dolaru jako stabilnímu a upevňujícímu faktoru v americké ekonomice. Pátá část se zaměřuje na globální vlivy působící na postavení Spojených států v dnešním měnícím se prostředí.

Abstract:

The first part of the paper comprises, among others, the opinions of renowned economists, sociologists and political scientists on the economic development of the United States. It sums up the roots of the economic growth of the US, together with sociological renderings of geographic and cultural conditions on the US territory. In the second part I analyze the individual macroeconomic fundaments influencing the development of the US economy and the US dollar. I focus here on the balance of payments, gross domestic product, money supply, public finance and, last but not least, taxes. The third part includes the analysis of the US economy in terms of the causes and consequences of the current economic turmoil, especially the mortgage crisis and the increasing price of raw materials. The fourth part is dedicated to the development of the US dollar as a stable and stabilizing factor within the US economy. The final part concerns global influences on the position of the US in today’s ever-changing world.
