This thesis deals with the best approximation problem. Firstly, a general idea of approximation on normed linear spaces is introduced. In the second chapter, a problem of linear and Chebyshev approximation is considered. V této diplomové práci se věnujeme problému nejlepší aproximace. V první kapitole představujeme obecný pojem nejlepší aproximace na normovaných lineárních prostorech. Ve druhé kapitole se zabýváme problémem lineární aproximace a aproximace v Čebyševově zmysle.
