The reasons of the interest in the psychosomatic medicine by doctors in the Czech Republic in the context of modern medicine

Abstract:

Tato práce je zaměřena na oblast psychologie lékařů – především na důvody zájmu lékařů o psychosomatickou medicínu, dále na zkoumání toho, jak zájem lékařů o psychosomatickou medicínu umožňuje či neumožňuje uspokojování jejich psychologických potřeb. Předmětem práce je také zjišťování, co pro lékaře znamená psychosomatická medicína a jakou roli v jejich zájmu o psychosomatickou medicínu má kontext moderní somatické medicíny. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a empirickou část. V teoretické části jsou prezentovány základní charakteristiky moderní a psychosomatické medicíny z hlediska pojetí nemoci, přístupu lékaře k pacientovi a možností vzdělávání lékařů v moderní i psychosomatické medicíně v ČR. Pozornost je věnována také teorii motivace a zájmu. Empirická část je kvalitativním narativně orientovaným výzkumem života lékařů s psychosomatickou medicínou (N=6). Výsledkem je klasifikace motivů, které stály na počátku a které se objevovaly v průběhu vytváření zájmu lékařů o psychosomatickou medicínu. Dále práce představuje určitou formu porozumění životu lékařů s psychosomatickou medicínou, v němž hraje významnou roli kontext moderní somatické medicíny, který je jedním z podnětů k zájmu lékařů o psychosomatickou medicínu.

Abstract:

This work is focused on the field of the psychology of physicians – mainly on the reasons of the physicians´ interest in the psychosomatic medicine. The attention is foremostly paid to the issue, how the physicians´ interest is able to satisfy their psychological needs, and as well to the recognition of the magnitude of the psychosomatic medicine for the physicians. We also tried to point the influence of the context of the modern medicine. There are presented the main characteristics of the modern and psychosomatic medicine in the theoretical part with the emphasis on the conception of illness and disease, the approach to the patiens and the possibilities of education in medicine in the Czech Republic. The empirical part is a qualitative survey. It is a narrative oriented inquiry among physicians (N=6). The survey led to the classification of the initial and other motives, which caused the interest of the psysicians in the psychosomatic medicine. The results present a way of understanding to the life experience with the psychosomatic medicine.
