Abstract:

Studie empiricky zkoumala vliv konkurenčního prostředí na obchodní strategii a provoz pomocí Dangote Cement Plc jako případové studie. Konkrétně zkoumala, jak konkurence ovlivňuje růst společností a průmyslových odvětví; zkoumala také obchodní strategie, které se používají k dosažení konkurenční výhody v konkurenčním obchodním prostředí. Zjistila role nákladového vedení a diferenciace v podnikání. Klíčové faktory ovlivňující podnikání a konkurenční prostředí byly dobře analyzovány pomocí analýzy Porter’s Five Forces v případě cementářského průmyslu v Nigérii. Potřebná data použitá pro tuto výzkumnou studii byla získána z výročních zpráv společnosti, vzorkovaných zaměstnanců managementu společnosti Dangote Cement Plc a některých hlavních distributorů. Studie využila návrh průzkumu výzkumu. Zjištění studie ukazují, že konkurenční prostředí má vliv na obchodní strategii a fungování společnosti a je zřejmé, že Dangote Cement Plc optimálně využívá svoji konkurenční výhodu. Doporučila tedy, aby se společnost v budoucnu připravila na změny politiky, které nemusí být příznivé, a zvážila také partnerství nebo akvizici na mezinárodním trhu, která posune její dosah mimo subsaharskou Afriku.

Abstract:

The study empirically investigated the influence of a competitive environment on business strategy and operation using Dangote Cement Plc as a case study. Specifically, it investigated how Competition influences growth in companies and industries; it also examined business strategies that are used to achieve competitive advantage in a competitive business environment. It found out the roles of cost leadership and differentiation in business. The key factors influencing a business and the competitive environment was well analyzed using Porter’s Five Forces analysis in the case of the cement industry in Nigeria. The necessary data used for this research study were elicited from the company’s annual reports, sampled management staff of Dangote Cement Plc and some major distributors. The study employed the survey research design. The findings of the study show that a competitive environment does have influence on the business strategy and operation of a company and it is clear that Dangote Cement Plc uses its competitive advantage optimally. It thus recommended that the company should brace itself for policy changes in the future that might not be favorable and also consider a partnership or acquisition in the international market that will push its market reach outside Sub-Saharan Africa.
