Correlation between social cognition and intelligence in adolescencents

Anotace:

Cílem této studie je zjistit zdali existuje vztah mezi sociální kognicí a inteligencí u adolescentů. Práce zahrnuje dvě části: teoretickou a empirickou. V teoretických východiscích jsou popsány dvě složky sociální kognice (afektivní a kognitivní), struktura teorií inteligence a základní charakteristiky týkající se adolescence. V empirické části jsou popsány studie na základě kterých byly stanoveny hypotézy pro naše šetření. Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 57 participantů ve věku 16-19 let. Sociální kognice byla měřena pomocí testu empathy quotient. Jako nástroj pro zkoumání IQ byl zvolen test struktury inteligence (I-S-T 2000 R). Mezi sociální kognicí a a inteligencí nebyl potvrzen signifikantní vztah.

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to determine whether there is a relationship between social cognition and intelligence in adolescence age. The work includes two parts: theoretical and empirical. Theoretical resources include two components of social cognition (affective and cognitive), the structure of intelligence and basic characteristics connected with adolescence age. In empirical part, some researches connected with our research hypothesis are described. The research sample was created by 57 participants, 16-19 years old. Social cognition was measured by empathy quotient task. Test of intelligence structure (I-S-T 2000 R) was chosen as a tool for IQ research. Correlation between social cognition and intelligence was not confirmed.
