New mayors after their first six months in office (set of interviews for Brněnský deník Rovnost)

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá komunálními volbami konanými v roce 2014 v Brně, respektive nově zvolenými zástupci ve funkcích starostů brněnských městských částí. Autor téma zpracoval jako sérii rozhovorů s šesti novými starosty. Tématem interview je reflexe starostů jejich prvních šesti měsíců ve funkci. Autor se v rozhovorech zaměřuje jak na změnu v jejich pracovním, tak i v osobním životě. Praktické části předchází teoretická část, v níž autor nastiňuje a analyzuje výsledky komunálních voleb v Brně a vybraných městských částech. Zároveň přibližuje publicistický žánr interview a předkládá metodologii doprovodného výzkumu, který před zpracováním práce provedl. V empirické části práce se věnuje popisu cílového média od jeho historie po současný stav. Cílem práce je přiblížit čtenáři práci nových starostů a dát nahlédnout do života politiků z jiného úhlu pohledu, než z jakého je média často prezentují.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis explores the municipal election held in 2014 in Czech Republic, concretely in the city of Brno, and the work of newly elected mayors in six city districts of Brno. The author describes changes in the professional and personal life of new mayors in set of six interviews with them which are part of the practical chapter of this thesis. Chapters preceding the practical one are theoretical, methodological and empirical. In the theoretical chapter author describes municipal election system as well as the results of 2014 elections in the city of Brno. Theoretical chapter also includes description of the genre of interwiev. In the methodological chapter author describes his method used for additional research in the target media and continues with describing the history and structure of the target media in the empirical chapter. The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to offer insight into work and life of newly elected mayors from a different point of view that is usually used in mass media.
