Stereotypization of women in mass media as an initiative in artwork

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem ženské stereotypizace především v tištěných masových médiích. Teoretická část práce si klade za cíl vysvětlit základní pojmy týkající se zvoleného tématu, tedy gender, genderovou roli a masová média. Zároveň uvádí příklady stereotypizace žen v této oblasti a předkládá jména umělců, kteří se toto téma rozhodli reflektovat ve své tvorbě. Praktická část čerpá z teoretických poznatků. Cílem je zde analýza vybraných časopisů a jejich následné grafické zpracování.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of women's stereotyping, especially in the printed mass media. The theoretical part of the thesis aims to explain the basic concepts, such as gender, gender role and mass media, which are related to the chosen topic. At the same time, it gives examples of women stereotypes in this field and presents the names of artists, who work with this theme. The practical part draws on theoretical knowledge. The aim is to analyse selected journals and then create their graphical representation.
