Cross-border payments

Abstract:

V této bakalářské práci se věnuji problematice přeshraničního platebního styku s důrazem na projekt SEPA. V první části se zabývám obecnou charakteristikou platebního styku a uvedením jeho základních forem. Druhá část rozebírá zahraniční platební styk, jeho korespondenční vztahy a věnuje se podrobnostem fungování systému SWIFT. V třetí části předkládám historický přehled přeshraničního platebního styku a jeho charakteristiku, uvádím právní rámec jeho fungování a popisuji jeho realizaci. Čtvrtá část představuje teoretické základy projektu SEPA, jeho významné milníky, geografickou působnost a aplikaci v podmínkách České republiky. Uvádím také výhody tohoto projektu. V poslední, páté části se věnuji samotné praktické analýze. Zkoumám rozdíl mezi zahraničním a přeshraničním platebním stykem a projektem SEPA. Předkládám přehled náležitostí a podmínek platebního příkazu přeshraničního platebního styku a projektu SEPA. Tato část dále obsahuje analýzu a porovnání vybraných aspektů u těchto dvou platebních styků. Následující kapitola se věnuje implementaci projektu SEPA a normám, kterými se projekt řídí.

Abstract:

This thesis discusses intra-European cross-border credit transfer with emphasis on the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) project. It is divided into five parts thusly: part one provides an overview of credit transfer and includes examples of its standard forms. Part two outlines international credit transfer, relationships and roles of correspondent banks and in detail examines the SWIFT network. Part three highlights historical summary of cross-border credit transfer, its aspects, implementation and explains the legal framework of its application. Part four contemplates the theory of the SEPA project, its advantages and disadvantages, and details its realization in phases in countries in, as well as out, of the Eurozone, including the Czech Republic. Part five, the actual practical analysis, demonstrates the differences between international, cross-border, and SEPA credit transfers, analyzes their specific aspects, and provides an overview of mandatory fields of sample SEPA and cross-border payment instruments. The end of this part outlines the implementation of the SEPA project and its standards.
