Preferences for the first job of students in master studies of the Department of Educational Sciences

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje preferencím prvního zaměstnání studentů v prezenční formě navazujícího magisterského studijního oboru Andragogika, Pedagogika a Sociální pedagogika a poradenství. Zabývá se také faktory, které mohou na tyto preference působit. Data získaná z dotazníkového šetření jsou zpracována s využitím kvantitativních metod. Ukázalo se, že tři čtvrtiny studentů oboru Andragogika preferují své první zaměstnání v oblasti personalistiky. Studenti oboru Pedagogika nemají své preference prvního zaměstnání příliš vyhraněné, ale nejvíce se přiklánějí k oblasti školství. Studenti oboru Sociální pedagogika a poradenství jsou ve svých preferencích prvního zaměstnání rozděleni zhruba na poloviny. Jedna polovina preferuje své první zaměstnání v oblasti školství a druhá v sociální oblasti. Na preference prvního zaměstnání studentů všech studijních oborů zároveň působí následující faktory: nalezení práce v oboru, důležitost názoru rodičů, úroveň vlastních schopností a dovedností studentů, zájmy, setkání s významnou osobou (vzorem), lokalita zaměstnání, možnost kariérního růstu a částečně i jistota zaměstnání. Zbývající faktory se v působení na preference prvního zaměstnání studentů jednotlivých studijních oborů liší.

Abstract:

The thesis is about preferences for the first job of students in full-time master studies of the Andragogy, Education, and Social Education and Counselling. It deals also with factors which can affect these preferences. The data from a survey are analyzed by quantitative methods. The results points that three quarters of the Andragogy students prefer their first job in the area of human resources. The students of the Education do not have distinctive preferences for their first job but they rather tend to work in an education system. The students of the Social Education and Counselling are split in their preferences in two groups. First group of students prefer their first job to be in education, the second group is rather for social field. The following factors which influence students’ preferences are present for the all three fields of study: finding a job in the same field as a study, parents’ opinion, the level of one’s own skills, interests, meeting with an important person (example), locality of the job, possibility of career’s advancement, and partly also the security of a job. The rest of the observed factors have different influence among the three fields of study.
