Spa parks in Northern Moravia – their history and potential

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce zkoumá lázeňské parky na severní Moravě, s ohledem na jejich historii a perspektivu do budoucna. Analyzuje přírodní, urbanistické, zahradně-krajinářské a historické aspekty těchto parků a hodnotí jejich současný stav a potenciál pro zahradní a krajinářskou tvorbu, stejně jako pro rekreační využití. První část práce se věnuje literárnímu přehledu, zkoumá lázeňská místa v regionu a jejich vztah k trvalým ekologickým podmínkám, definuje klíčové pojmy a sleduje historický vývoj lázeňství a parků. Druhá část obsahuje seznam lázeňských míst a selektuje ty s významným zastoupením zahradních a krajinářských úprav, které jsou následně detailně charakterizovány. Dále se zaměřuje na modelový objekt – Priessnitzovy léčebné lázně v Jeseníku, kde jsou provedeny relevantní průzkumy a rozbory, a analyzuje jeho rozvojový potenciál v kontextu zahradní a krajinářské tvorby. Závěr práce navrhuje směry dalšího rozvoje lázeňských parků a zdůrazňuje jejich hodnoty.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis examines the spa parks in North Moravia with regard to their history and future prospects. It analyses the natural, urban, horticultural and historical aspects of these parks and assesses their current state and potential for garden and landscape design as well as recreational use. The first part of the thesis undertakes a literature review, examines spa sites in the region and their relationship to permanent ecological conditions, defines key terms, and traces the historical development of spa and parks. The second part lists spa sites and selects those with a significant presence of landscaping, which are then characterized in detail. It then focuses on a model object, the Priessnitz Spa in Jeseník, where relevant surveys and analyses have been carried out, and analyses its development potential in the context of garden and landscape design. The thesis concludes by suggesting directions for the further development of spa parks and highlights their values.
