Instruments of investment banking

Abstract:

Investment banking represents the most developing area of the banking. It is also considering as the area that does not recognize the borders all over the world. It is the area that creates the earnings/gains, however is even risky. The investment banking tools (securities trading, their emission, assets management) one of which are even the financial derivatives, are considering responsible for the credit crises launching. However it is necessary to reflect the fact, that all those instruments represent relevant financial innovations treated as the financial market engine, new challenge for the investing clients, source of the wealth, however even the possible source of bankruptcy. Even the Slovak commercial banks have started to provide their clients with the tools of the investment banking and those tools becoming the stable part of the bank offered banking products. Key words: investment banking, investment banking tools, securities, securities emission, security trading, financial derivatives, assets management, mergers and acquisitions.

Abstract:

Investičné bankovníctvo predstavuje oblasť bankovníctva najviac sa rozvíjajúcu, a je považovaná za oblasť, ktorá potiera hranice a nepozná ich. Zároveň predstavuje tú oblasť, ktorá síce prináša zisk, ale je zároveň rizikovou oblasťou. Nástrojom investičného bankovníctva, ku ktorým radíme nielen obchodovanie s cennými papiermi, či obchodovanie s nimi a správu aktív klientov banky, ale aj finančné deriváty, sa dokonca verejnosťou, prevažne odbornou, pripisuje aj vznik a sú vinené za spustenie úverovej krízy v USA. Na strane druhej avšak predstavujú finančné deriváty dôležité inovácie na finančných trhoch sveta. Nástroje investičného bankovníctva predstavujú pre investorov nové možnosti, výzvy, zdroje bohatstva, ale aj príčiny krachu. Postupne sa nástroje investičného bankovníctva dostali aj do portfólia slovenských komerčných bánk, ktoré ich začali ponúkať svojim klientom. V súčasnosti zaujímavú tieto nástroje čoraz stabilnejšie miesto v portfóliu bankových produktov.
