Investičné bankovníctvo predstavuje oblasť bankovníctva najviac sa rozvíjajúcu, a je považovaná za oblasť, ktorá potiera hranice a nepozná ich. Zároveň predstavuje tú oblasť, ktorá síce prináša zisk, ale je zároveň rizikovou oblasťou.
