The Economic Policy of FED during the Great Recession

Abstract:

The goal of the diploma thesis „The Economic Policy of the FED during the Great Recession“ is to create an analysis of monetary tools used by the american central bank since 2007 with emphasis on the unconventional ones. The thesis is divided into five chapters. I focus on the main causes of the recession in the first chapter and on its development in the U.S. in the second one. There is the analysis of the monetary policy tools and facilities which were created by the Federal Reserve System in the third chapter. There are the monetary policy tools effects on chosen macroeconomic aggregates described in the last chapter.

Abstract:

Predmetom diplomovej práce „Politika FED-u behom Veľkej krízy“ je analýza nástrojov použitých americkou centrálnou bankou od roku 2007 s dôrazom na nekonvenčné programy. Práca je rozdelená do piatich kapitol. Prvá kapitola je zameraná na príčiny vzniku krízy, druhá sa sústredí na jej stručný priebeh. V tretej kapitole sú analyzované nástroje menovej politiky a programy, ktoré Federálny rezervný systém vytvoril. V štvrtej časti sú popísané dopady na vybrané makroekonomické veličiny.
