Creative accounting and forensic audit of business entities in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá třemi základními pojmy. Těmito byly kreativní účetnictví, forenzní audit a hospodářská kriminalita. V rámci prvního termínu proběhlo vysvětlení tohoto pojmu, nadnesení kontroverze ohledně chápání odborníky a představení nejčastěji využívaných praktik. Toto bylo doplněno o motivy, jež doprovázejí obě strany mince. Druhá problematika týkající se forenzního auditu byla sestavena z definice forenzního auditu, vymezení jeho rozdílů vůči externímu auditu, dále také objasnění funkce forenzního auditora, procesu vyšetřování a jeho nástrojů. Poslední pojem stanovil další druhy podvodného jednání, vysvětlil, co je to podvod, jaké jsou jeho motivy, následky, a jak mu předcházet. K tomuto pojmu byla v praktické části představena data ohledně výskytu hospodářské kriminality za roky 2011 až 2020 v ČR. Tímto se zabývala i část výzkumného šetření. Dotazníkové šetření se dále zaměřovalo především na kreativní účetnictví, nejčastěji využívané metody a všeobecné vnímání tohoto pojmu odbornou veřejností z řad forenzních auditorů, auditorů, soudních znalců a jiných odborníků z této oblasti.

Abstract:

This thesis dealt with three basic concepts. These were creative accounting, forensic auditing and economic crime. During the first term, this term was explained, the controversy raised regarding the understanding by experts and the most frequently used practices were presented. This was supplemented by motifs that accompany both sides of the coin. The second issue related to the forensic audit, was compiled from the definition of the forensic audit, the definition of its differences compared to the external audit, as well as the clarification of the function of the forensic auditor, the investigation process and its tools. The last term established other types of fraudulent behavior, explained what fraud is, what are its motives, consequences, and how to prevent it. For this concept, data on the occurrence of economic crime for the years 2011 to 2020 in the Czech Republic were presented in the practical part. This was also dealt with in part of the research investigation. The questionnaire survey focused primarily on creative accounting, the most frequently used methods and the general perception of this term by the professional public from the ranks of forensic auditors, auditors, forensic experts and other experts in this field.
