Abstract:

Práce pojednává o českém šlechtici Janovi z Vartemberka žijícím na přelomu 13. a 14. století. Vedle stručné historie rodu Markvarticů, ze kterého pocházel, se práce zaměřuje na Janův život a na dobové události, do nichž zasáhl. Jan z Vartemberka zastával za vlády Jindřicha Korutanského funkci nejvyššího číšníka a roku 1315 získal hodnost moravského podkomořího. Byl členem skupiny šlechticů, která měla velký podíl na rozhodování a vládě v zemi. A i přesto že stál částečně ve stínu svého mocnějšího přítele Jindřicha z Lipé, významně zasáhl do dobových událostí.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the Czech nobleman Jan from Vartemberk living at turn of 13th and 14th century. Beside brief history of Markvarts house, from which he came, the thesis focuses on Jan’s life and on contemporary events, in which he intervened. Jan from Vartemberk held, under rule of Jindřich Korutanský, the office of the top-taster and in 1315 he received the office of Moravian vice-chamberlain. He was a member of group of nobles, which had a big part in decision-making and in control in the country. Despite of fact he stood partial under the shadow of his more powerful friend Jindřich from Lipé, he interfered significantly in contemporary events.
