Work satisfaction of workers in the field of IT in relation to their interests and attachment style

Abstract:

Cílem této práce bylo prozkoumat vztah mezi kongruencí jedincova pracovního typu a typu pracovního pro-středí, stylem attachmentu a pracovní spokojeností. Výzkumu se zúčastnilo celkem 187 respondentů, z toho 165 mužů a 22 žen ve věku od 20 do 39 let. Sledované konstrukty byly měřeny pomocí zkrácené verze Hollandovy metody zjišťující profesní zaměření osobnosti, standardizovaného dotazníku citové vazby k rodičům a nově vytvořeného nástroje k měření pracovní spokojenosti. Na základě výsledků analýz se poda-řila prokázat vyšší míra pracovní spokojenosti u jedinců s jistou citovou vazbou oproti jedincům s nevyhraněnou. Dále byl prokázán slabý, ale signifikantní vliv jistoty citové vazby na kongruenci mezi pra-covním typem jedince jeho pracovním prostředím. Při zkoumání vlivu kongruence na celkovou pracovní spokojenost i na samostatnou subškálu reprezentující spokojenost s obsahem a charakterem práce nebyly nalezeny signifikantní výsledky. Délka působení na pracovní pozici na spokojenost vliv neměla, stejně tak jako nebyl prokázán vztah mezi délkou působení a kongruencí. Naopak shoda mezi vystudovaným oborem a zaměřením aktuální pozice kladně ovlivňovala pracovní spokojenost. Výstupy analýz byly diskutovány s ohledem na možnosti využití v poradenské praxi.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis was to investigate relation between congruence of individual's interest type, and his working environment, attachment style, and work satisfaction. 187 respondents participated in this research, 165 of which were men and 22 women, all between the ages of 20 and 39. Observed construct were measured using a shortened version of Holland's RIASEC marker scale, a standardized questionnaire of parent atta-chment, and a newly developed tool to measure work satisfaction. Based on the results of the analyses, a higher level of work satisfaction have been found at workers with secure attachment compared to workers with ambivalent attachment. Further, a weak, but significant influence of attachment safety on congruence between working type of individual and his working environment have been found. During investigation of effect of congruence on total work satisfaction and on the specific sub-scale representing satisfaction with the content and character of work no significant results have been found. The length of employment in a specific position neither influenced the satisfaction nor the congruence. On the other hand correspondence between the field of former education and the field of actual working position positively influenced the satisfaction. Results of the analyses were later discussed, considering the possibility to use them in work counseling.
