Výsledky naší práce potvrzují, že bazální ganglia a zde především subtalamické jádro (STN) se nezúčasťnují pouze motorických, ale také kognitivních funkcií. Naše data z nahrávání evokovaných potenciálů z hlubokých elektrod v STN naznačují, že kognitivní role subtalamického jádra se liší od funkce jiných částí bazálních ganglií (striatum, pallidum), které již byli zkoumány. Our work shows that the basal ganglia and specifically the STN is involved not only in motor regulations. Our recordings of event-related potentials from the STN suggest a specific cognitive role of the STN that differs from the role of the BG nuclei investigated earlier.
