Tato práce se zamýšlí nad tím, jak J.R.R. Tolkien zobrazuje vývoj vybraných postav v Pánovi prstenů. Protože se zdá, že Tolkien vedle sebe často klade určité postavy, aby skrze ně poukázal na rozdílné hodnoty, postoje či rozhodnutí, byly pro tuto práci vybrány dvě skupiny postav, jejichž vývoj a transformace příběh sleduje a zaznamenává. Grounded in archetypal criticism, this work is dedicated to contemplation of the process of spiritual growth and spiritual corruption as they are represented by two selected groups of characters from J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, Gandalf and Saruman and Aragorn, Faramir, and Denethor.
