Comparison of CRS Activities and Reporting of Selected Companies

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou společenské odpovědnosti firem, konkrétně reportingem udržitelného rozvoje podle metodiky GRI a aktivitami podniků v oblasti CSR. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na vysvětlení definic, historického vývoje konceptu společenské odpovědnosti, rozlišuje možné typy hodnocení a využití mezinárodních norem pro reporting. Předmětem praktické části jsou dvě kapitoly, první se zabývá analýzou reportů vybraných firem podle metodiky GRI ve starším a aktualizovaném vydání, druhá se týká analýzy společensky odpovědných aktivit, které firmy mimo reporting vyvíjejí. Cílem práce je doporučit vhodná opatření k případnému zlepšení postupů a provádění reportingu, vzhledem k aktualizovaným normám GRI G4. Dílčím cílem je doporučení návrhu přispívající k trvalému zlepšování společenské odpovědnosti a udržitelného rozvoje firmy. Práce tak nabízí pohled na současnou moderní tématiku, která nabízí návrhy pro zlepšení udržitelného rozvoje analyzovaných firem.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the issue of corporate social responsibility, namely the sustainability reporting according to the GRI methodology and CSR activities of companies. Theoretical part focuses on explanation of definitions, historical development of the concept of corporate social responsibility, distinguishes different types of evaluation and utilization of international standards for reporting. The subject of the practical part are two chapters, the first analyzes reports of selected companies according to GRI methodology in older and updated edition, the second concerns the analysis of socially responsible activities, which companies do outside of the reporting. The aim is to recommend suitable measures for possible improvements in reporting procedures and implementation, due to updated standards GRI G4. The partial aim is to make recommendations contributing to the continuous improvement of social responsibility and sustainable development of the company. Thesis thus offers an insight into contemporary modern theme that offers suggestions for improving the sustainable development of analyzed companies.
