Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na analýzu povídek, které byly napsány významných americkým spisovatelem 20. století Johnem Cheeverem. Hlavním zdrojem pro tuto analýzu je sbírka povídek The Stories of John Cheever publikovaná v roce 1978.
