Employee Engagement - An analysis of ideas, attitudes and its degree among Czech employees

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem předkládané diplomové práce je zjištění toho, jak moc jsou čeští zaměstnanci ve své práci angažovaní. Práce se vedle tohoto cíle soustředí na spokojenost českých zaměstnanců s faktory, které vycházejí z teoretických přístupů k engagementu a tento engagement podněcují, dále usiluje o analýzu jejich představ a postojů vůči relativně novější koncepci, kterou představuje právě engagement. V rámci teoretické části jsou představeny pracovní postoje, které s engagementem souvisejí a především jsou zde vyloženy nejdůležitější teoretické směry engagementu a způsoby jeho měření. Stanoveného cíle tato práce dosahuje prostřednictvím aparátu definovaného v teoretické části práce, a to pomocí dotazníkového šetření s využitím doporučeného dotazníku pro měření engagementu (Gallup a vlastního kombinovaného přístupu UWES a Job Scale Engagement). V práci je také věnovaná význačná pečlivost sběru dat tak, aby struktura respondentů, co nejlépe reprezentovala strukturu základního souboru, tj. českých zaměstnanců. Výsledky výzkumu jsou srovnány s mezinárodní studií Gallup z roku 2017.

Abstract:

The main aim of this diploma thesis is to find out how much Czech employees are engaged in their work. In addition, the presented thesis focuses on the satisfaction of Czech employees with factors based on the theoretical approaches to engagement, also it seeks to analyze their ideas and attitudes towards a relatively new concept of engagement. The theoretical part introduces working attitudes that are related to the engagement and, above all, here are introduced the most important theoretical directions of engagement and the ways of its measurement. The stated goal of the thesis is based on the apparatus defined in the theoretical part, by means of a questionnaire survey when applying the recommended engagement survey questionnaire (Gallup and author’s own combination of UWES and Job Scale Engagement). The work also devotes a considerable attention to the collection of responses so that the structure of the respondents best represents the structure of the basic population, ie Czech employees. The research results are compared with the 2017 Gallup international study.
