Regulation of the Cryptocurrency Market

Abstract:

Bitcoin a altocoiny jsou stále častěji přijímány jako uchovatelé finanční hodnoty. Svým potenciálem ovlivňují jednotlivé transakce i samotný chod trhu. Jejich tržní kapitál vzrostl zhruba o 1 333 % během jednoho roku (SUBA, 2017). Tento vzrůst vyvolává mnoho otázek, avšak tato bakalářská práce se bude především zabývat dvěma, a to, zda je nutné, aby byl trh s kryptoměnami regulován stejně jako trh s klasickými měnami a zda existuje možnost, že kryptoměny v blízké budoucnosti nahradí ty klasické. K zodpovězení otázek bude práce využívat metodu komparace jednotlivých měn, jejich výhod a nevýhod a chování na trhu. Transparentnost a důvěryhodnost blockchainu umožňuje jeho fungování bez jakékoli centrální autority, jeho sdílená platforma má možnost výrazně snížit náklady na finanční služby a poskytnout stejný, ne-li lepší, zákaznický servis. Kryptoměny, mají potenciál předělat kapitalistický systém v čele s velkými korporacemi na byznysy obchodující na stejné úrovni, a proto by bylo žádoucí, aby nahradily klasické měny.

Abstract:

Bitcoin and altocoins are increasingly accepted as sustainers of financial values. Their potential affects individual transactions and the market itself. Their market capital increased by about 1 333% over one year (SUBA, 2017). This growth raises many questions however, my bachelor thesis will deal primarily with two questions as to whether it is necessary to regulate the cryptocurrency market the same way as the classical currencies market, and whether there is a possibility that cryptocurrencies will replace classical ones, in the near future. To answer the questions, the thesis will use the method of comparison of individual currencies, their advantages and disadvantages and behaviour on the market. Transparency and credibility of the blockchain allow its operation without any central authority, its shared platform makes it possible to significantly reduce the cost of financial services and provide the same, if not better, customer service. Cryptocurrencies have the potential to rearrange the capitalist system, led by large corporations into businesses trading on the same level, and therefore, it would be desirable to replace the classical currencies.
