Physical therapy for groin pain in a professional soccer player: case report.

Abstract:

Groin pain is still a very unclear pathology, especially due to the anatomical complexity of the pubic region and the frequent overlap, in the clinical picture, of other types of pathology. The purpose of this research is analyzing problems of groin pain and its physical-limiting implications, from a speculative and practical point of view, in particular regarding the competitive experience of a professional footballer, proving that through a right diagnosis and therapy rehabilitation is possible a return to sport (RTS) in a reasonable short amount of time. This research shows how a correct and prompt diagnosis is fundamental in the rehabilitation of groin pain and that, through targeted therapies carried out in the correct time and succession, a return to physical activity can be achieved after a few weeks.

Abstract:

La pubalgia, dato il sovrapporsi di altre patologie č tutt?oggi una patologia ancora da scoprire del tutto, e ancor piů per la complessitŕ del bacino e delle forze muscolari che agiscono a livello di questa struttura anatomica. Ho scelto di focalizzare la mia ricerca ? sotto il profilo speculativo e pratico ? sulla problematica della pubalgia nonché sui suoi risvolti fisico-limitativi, in modo particolare per quanto riguarda l?esperienza agonistica di un calciatore professionista e dimostrare che tramite una corretta diagnosi e terapia riabilitativa č possibile il ritorno all?attivitŕ fisica in tempi relativamente brevi. Inizialmente il paziente č stato valutato con esame morfofunzionale e test muscolari, successivamente č stato trattato con terapia fisica e manuale. Sarŕ dimostrato come una corretta e precoce diagnosi sia fondamentale nella riabilitazione della pubalgia e che tramite terapie mirate ed effettuate nei tempi e nella successione giusta si puň ottenere un ritorno all?attivitŕ fisica dopo poche settimane.
