Zootherapy Used in Treating Seniors with Dementia Syndrome

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na aktivizaci zvanou zooterapie a její užití při práci se seniory se syndromem demence. Teoretická část bakalářské práce nás provází třemi kapitolami, které se pozvolna prolínají. Vysvětlují aspekty stárnutí a stáří, s cílem dostat se k problematice, jež je pro tuto práci stěžejní - zvyšující se riziko vzniku degenerativních onemocnění, v jehož důsledku je velmi důležité znát postupy správné péče, a to především v oblasti nefarmakologické léčby a správně zvolených aktivizací. Praktická část bakalářské práce je formou kvantitativního výzkumu, kdy metodou bylo zvoleno dotazníkové šetření. Dotazovanými byli pracovníci sociálních služeb, kteří mají k této oblasti nejblíže a cílem tedy je, zjistit, jaký mají pohled na aktivizaci zvanou zooterapie - v čem spočívá její důležitost, jaká je její účinnost, jaký má vliv na pacienty a soustředí se také na úskalí této aktivizace.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the activation which is called zootherapy and its use in practice with seniors who suffer from dementia syndrome. The theoretical part is divided into the three main chapters which blend gradually. They explain some aspects of aging and the old age up to the main part which is the most important for this bachelor's thesis and that's the issue of increasing risk of degenerative diseases. As a result, it's very important to know the right steps of the care, mainly in the area of non-pharmacological care and correctly selected activations. The practical part of this bachelor's thesis is based on a quantitative research when the data was collected through the questionnaire survey. The respondents were social service workers - people who are the closest ones to this topic. The aim of this work is to discover what's the opinion of the social service workers on the activation called zootherapy - what is the importance, efficiency, the influence on the patients and also which are the pitfalls of this activation.
