Motivation and a sustainable lifestyle

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce s názvem „Motivace a udržitelný životní styl“ se zabývala téma-tem udržitelného životního stylu a s ním spojenou problematikou. V teoretické části jsem charakterizovala nejdůležitější pojmy a analyzovala informace z odborné literatury. Hlavními tématy teoretické části byl udržitelný životní styl, biopotraviny a motivace. V praktické části práce jsem se zaměřila na získávání dat pomocí elektronického dotazníkového šetření. Cílem praktické části bylo zjistit, jaké jsou nejčastější motivy dospělé populace k nákupu biopotravin. Součástí dotazníku byly také položky sloužící k odhalení postojů respondentů k biopotravinám. Druhým cílem praktické části bylo ověřit průzkumnou hypotézu, která předpokládala větší motivaci mladší skupiny respondentů k nákupu biopotravin oproti té starší. Výsledky průzkumu ukázaly, že mezi nejčastější motivy k nákupu biopotravin patří prospěšnost biopotravin pro zdraví člověka, bezpečnější složení biopotravin oproti konvenčním potravinám, pozitivnější hodnocení biopotravin oproti konvenčním potravinám a ochrana hospodářských zvířat. Většina vzorku zaujala k biopotravinám pozitivní postoj. Na základě výsledků průzkumu jsem zamítla nulovou hypotézu. Propojením získaných dat s informacemi z teoretické části práce jsem byla schopna zformulovat doporučení pro zvýšení motivace dětí i dospělých k nákupu biopotravin. Doporučení byla směrována zejména k dětem, jelikož jejich vztah k přírodě a environmentálním hodnotám je stále tvárný.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis on the subject of "Motivation and Sustainable Lifestyle" dealt with the topic of sustainable lifestyle and related issues. In the theoretical part I characterized the most important concepts and analyzed information from the literature. The main topics of the theoretical part were sustainable lifestyle, organic food and motivation. In the practical part of the thesis I focused on data collection using an electronic questionnaire survey. The aim of the practical part was to find out the most common motives of the adult population to buy organic food. The questionnaire also included items aimed at finding out respondent’s attitudes towards organic food. The second objective of the practical part was to test the research hypothesis that the younger group of respondents was more motivated to buy organic food than the older group. The results of the survey showed that the most frequent motives for buying organic food include the benefits of organic food for human health, safer composition of organic food compared to conventional food, more positive evaluation of organic food compared to conventional food and protection of farm animals. The majority of the sample had a positive attitude towards organic food. Based on the survey results, I rejected the null hypothesis. By linking the data obtained with the information from the theoretical part of the thesis, I was able to formulate recommendations to increase the motivation of children and adults to buy organic food. The recommendations were directed especially to children, as their relationship to nature and environmental values is still malleable.
