On Translation of Gender Terminology

Anotace:

This thesis analyses translation of gender terminology in the publication Ženy, muži a společnost by Mgr. Lukáš Gjurič, Mgr. Marcela Linková, PhDr. Blanka Knotková-Čapková and PhDr. Viola Parente-Čapková. The translation strategies are annotated; the translation solutions are evaluated and commented on. Research is also be carried out in the field of current gender terminology, investigating the possible new translation solutions and contrasting them with the ones used in the publication. Another investigated aspect is the translation norms and their adherence. In conclusion, the thesis gives an account of the overall trends in translation of gender terminology.
