Features of the historical landscape of the city of Ostrava identified from photos published in Facebook groups

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce "Prvky historické krajiny Ostravska identifikované z fotografií zveřejněných ve facebookových skupinách" se zaměřuje na vývoj krajiny v Ostravě s důrazem na tři klíčové transformační fáze. První fáze popisuje přeměnu původní nedotčené lesní krajiny na zemědělskou oblast, druhá fáze popisuje transformaci této zemědělské krajiny na průmyslovou oblast a třetí fáze popisuje přechod průmyslové krajiny do současného stavu. Cílem práce je identifikovat historické prvky krajiny Ostravska a popsat její vývoj pomocí fotografií získaných z vybraných facebookových skupin. Tyto fotografie zachycují charakteristické prvky krajiny a pohledy do krajiny, které jsou následně porovnány s aktuálními snímky. Práce vychází z teoretických základů, které popisují vývoj Ostravska až po současnost. Na závěr práce je vytvořen foto atlas s popisky a doprovodným textem, který vývoj krajiny shrne.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis "Features of the historical landscape of the city of Ostrava identified from photos published in Facebook groups"focuses on the landscape development in Ostrava, with an emphasis on three key transformational phases. The first phase describes the conversion of the original untouched forest landscape into an agricultural area, the second phase describes the transformation of this agricultural landscape into an industrial zone, and the third phase describes the transition of the industrial landscape into its current state. The aim of the thesis is to identify historical elements of the Ostrava landscape and describe its development using photographs obtained from selected Facebook groups. These photographs capture characteristic landscape features and views, which are subsequently compared with current images. The thesis is based on theoretical foundations that describe the development of Ostrava up to the present. At the end of the thesis, a photo atlas with captions and accompanying text summarizing the landscape development is created.
