Auxin byl popsán jako jeden z hlavních aktérů hrající důležitou úlohu u vývojových a adaptivních procesů u rostlin. Vývoj rostliny je úzce spjat s podmínkami, ve kterých se nachází a prostředí má tak přímý vliv na distribuci auxinu v rostlinných pletivech, přičemž jeho distribuce je zprostředkována auxinovými vynašeči, PIN proteiny. Auxin have been described to play an important role in various developmental and adaptational processes in plants. However, plant's development is tightly connected to environmental conditions. These conditions have direct impact on the differential distribution of the hormone auxin within plant tissues, mediated by PINs, auxin efflux carriers.
