Vliv Číny na preference zahraniční politiky zemí střední a východní Evropy

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je testování platnosti populárního teze, dle které Čína zavedla strategii „divide et impera“ ve vztacích s Evropskou unií prostřednictvím iniciativy 16+1. Současná literatura se zaměřuje především na analýzu ekonomických aspektů. Tato práce však využívá unikátní techniky pro studium neekonomických aspektů. Jako taková byla analýza provedena jak prostřednictvím srovnání státních pozic odvozených z údajů o hlasování států v Organizaci spojených národů, tak podobností proslovů odvozených ze státních prohlášení na valném shromáždění Organizace spojených národů. Autor dospěl k závěru, že iniciativa 16 + 1 vedla pouze k mírnému nárůstu podobnosti státních preferencí mezi zeměmi střední a východní Evropy a Čínou.

Abstract:

The primary goal of this thesis is to address the validity of a popular premise that China has deployed a “divide et impera” strategy in relations with the European Union through the 16+1 Initiative. The contemporary literature predominantly focuses on the analysis of economic aspects. The thesis, however, deploys unique techniques to study non-economic aspects. As such the analysis was conducted via both comparison of state positions derived from the United Nation roll-call data and the speech similarities derived from the United Nations statements. The author concluded that the 16+1 initiative has led to only a very slight increase in similarity of the state’s preferences between the CEE countries and China.
