Euro and its Acceptance as National Currency in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce informuje čtenáře o dopadech na subjekty a občany České republiky při přijetí měny euro. Na úvod seznamuje čtenáře s historií evropské integrace, o vzniku různých evropských společenství a sdružení. Zde je mimo jiné i poprvé obsažena zmínka o společné evropské měně. Dále se podrobně věnuje měně euro a Evropské centrální bance. Hlavním předpokladem možného přijetí eura je splnění řady ekonomických kritérií, tzv. Maastrichtská kritéria, jejichž aktuální analýza je také součástí této práce. V případě, že by bylo rozhodnuto o přijetí měny euro jako domácí měny, bude mít toto rozhodnutí významný vliv na tuzemské subjekty a občany České republiky. Součástí této práce je i popis kroků, které jednotlivé subjekty budou muset uskutečnit ještě před přijetím měny euro. Cílem této práce je predikovat možné přijetí eura jako domácí měny, čemuž je věnovaná závěrečná kapitola.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis informs its readers about the acceptance of euro currency and impacts it will have on entities and citizens of the Czech Republic. In the introduction readers are acquainted with history of European integration, about establishment of European partnerships and associations. There is also mentioned the idea of united European currency. Then it brings information about euro currency and about European Central Bank. The main presumption of euro currency acceptance is to fulfill a lot of economic criteria, so-called Maastricht´s criteria. Their up to date analysis is a part of this thesis as well. If it has been decided to accept euro as a domestic currency, this decision will have significant influence on subjects and citizens of the Czech Republic. Description of measures that are to be taken before the acceptance of euro currency are also apart of the thesis. The goal of the thesis is to predict possible acceptance of euro as a domestic currency, which is the main part of the last chapter.
