Thesis describes the issue of multiple-office holding in France. In the first part, this phenome-non is studied on theoretical level, concerning its origins, massive extension in French condi-tions and the advantages and disadvantages that it brings with it. Thesis describes the issue of multiple-office holding in France. In the first part this phenome-non is studied on theoretical level concerning its origins massive extension in French condi-tions and the advantages and disadvantages that it brings with it. Thesis also presents an inter-national comparison and summary of legislative measures intending to put some limits to this practice. The empirical part presents concrete impacts of multiple-office holding on work of deputies of National Assembly during 2007-2012. The last part is dedicated to the case study of multiple-office holding in the French biggest region Aquitaine and its biggest departement Gironde France multiple-office holding deputies senators local authorities decentralisation parity Akvitánie.
