Foreign Pupils Parents' Cooperation with Primary School

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou spolupráce rodičů cizinců se základní školou. Cílem práce je popsat, jakým způsobem probíhá spolupráce během školního roku i při nástupu žáků cizinců do základní školy, dále má odhalit, jaké aspekty vstupují do této spolupráce a jaké mají představy o spolupráci rodiče i učitelé 1. stupně. Teoretická část vychází z inkluzivního vzdělávání, které se týká žáků cizinců, jelikož jsou řazeni do žáků se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami. Vymezuje se zde pojem žák cizinec a to, jak probíhá školní adaptace žáků cizinců, která může být ovlivněna psychickou i sociální stránkou žáka. Důležitou částí je zde spolupráce rodičů cizinců se školou, která může být v určitých aspektech specifická. Jelikož spolupráce stojí hlavně na komunikaci mezi rodiči a školou, je zde tento pojem také definován a prolíná se také s interkulturní komunikací ve vzdělávání. Výzkumné šetření bylo realizováno prostřednictvím 11 polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s rodiči cizinci i učiteli 1. stupně základní školy. Výsledky ukázaly, že nejvýznamněji probíhá komunikace jako dostatečná forma spolupráce mezi rodiči a učiteli. Spolupráce je nejvíce ovlivněna jazykovou bariérou a zájmem rodičů o vzdělávání.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of cooperation between parents of foreigners and elementary schools. The aim of the thesis is to describe how cooperation takes place during the school year and when foreign students enter elementary school, and to reveal what aspects enter into this cooperation and what ideas parents and first-grade teachers have about cooperation. The theoretical part is based on inclusive education, which concerns foreign students, as they are classified as students with special educational needs. The concept of a foreign student is defined here and how the school adaptation of foreign students takes place, which can be influenced by the psychological and social side of the student. An important part here is the cooperation of parents of foreigners with the school, which can be specific in certain aspects. Since cooperation is mainly based on communication between parents and school, this term is also defined here and is also intertwined with intercultural communication in education. The research was carried out through 11 semi-structured interviews with foreign parents and primary school teachers. The results showed that communication takes place most significantly as a sufficient form of cooperation between parents and teachers. Cooperation is most influenced by the language barrier and parents' interest in education.
