History of the Use of Photography in the Activities of Security Forces in Global Context

Abstract:

Záměrem práce je ukázat, jak je fotografie nádherný vynález, který se vyvíjel několik let, než dostal dnešní podobu. V práci se bude rozebírat samotný vznik fotografie, její vynálezci, druhy vyhotovování a kopírování. Alphonse Bertillon bude vyzdvižen jako hlavní přínosce dokumentace pachatelů a místa činu. Dále bude ukázáno, jak je fotografie důležitá pro bezpečnostní složky při dokumentování místa činu, míst nehod nebo zadržených zločinců. Jako další budou popsány jednotlivé druhy stop, které se zajišťují pro vyšetřování, následně i vybrané kategorie fotografické dokumentace běžně využívané pro zachycení místa činu a stop nacházejících se tamtéž a dále vybavení a pomůcky policejního fotografa. Dalším tématem budou fotografické přístroje od výrobců Kodak a Canon popsané za sebou od nejstarší po nemladší. A nakonec budou popsány dva případy, kdy se využila fotografie při pátrání po ztracených dětech.

Abstract:

The intention of the work is to show how photography is a wonderful invention that has evolved over several years before it took its present form. The work will discuss the origin of photography itself, its inventors, types of making and copying. Alphonse Bertillon will be highlighted as a major contributor to the documentation of perpetrators and crime scenes. Moreover, it will be shown how photography is important for security forces in documenting crime scenes, accident sites or apprehended criminals. Next, the different types of traces that are secured for investigations will be described, followed by selected categories of photographic documentation commonly used to capture crime scenes and traces found there, as well as the equipment and tools of the police photographer. Next, photographic equipment from manufacturers Kodak and Canon will be described in turn from the oldest to the newest. Finally, two cases where photography was used in the search for missing children will be described.
