V této práci se zabýváme funkcemi umění, jak je popisuje současný britský filozof Alain de Botton. Po kritickém zhodnocení jeho teorie ji následně používáme jako základ pro analýzu konkrétního literárního díla (Za Soumraku od Michaela Cunninghama). Abstract:
In this work we are examining functions of art which were postulated by a contemporary British philosopher Alain de Botton. After critical evaluation, we use his theory to analyze a particular novel (By Nightfall by Michael Cunningham).
