Livestyl of obese children

Abstract:

Cíl: Cílem bakalářské práce bylo zmapovat současný životní styl obézních dětí ve věku od 8 do 15 let. Zjistit nejčastější rizikové faktory v životním stylu těchto dětí a zda se tytéž rizikové faktory pro vznik obezity vyskytují u obou pohlaví. Metodika: Průzkumný soubor tvořilo 120 obézních dětí léčících se v OLÚ Metylovice ve věku od 8 do 15 let. Pro získání údajů byla použita technika dotazníku, který se skládal z 29 otázek. Průzkum byl proveden anonymně v měsících leden až březen 2013. Výsledky: Z výsledku průzkumu vyvstávají dva hlavní rizikové faktory životního stylu ? strava a pohyb. Ve stravování se jedná o nadbytečný přísun sladkostí a nepravidelnosti denních jídel. V oblasti pohybu bylo zjištěno nedostatek pohybu a sedavý způsob trávení volného času. Významné mezipohlavní rozdíly byly zaznamenány v oblasti vnímání sebe sama a oblast pocitů, kdy se děvčata hodnotila mnohem negativněji než chlapci. Další rozdíl byl zaznamenán v oblasti úrazovosti, kdy chlapci počtem úrazu převyšovali děvčata. Závěr: Ze zjištěných údajů je zřejmé, že děti neví, co to obezita je a jaká rizika sebou nese. Nejdůležitější roli ve výchově hrají rodiče a jejích přistup.

Abstract:

Aim: The main objective of the bachelor?s thesis was to map a contemporary/current lifestyle of obese children aged between 8 and 15 years old. And also to identify the most common risk factors of lifestyle and whether these risk factors occur in both sexes. Method: Research sample includes 120 obese children aged between 8 and 15 years old which undergo a treatment in OLÚ Metylovice. Collected data were obtained from questionnaire consisting of 29 questions. The research was conducted anonymously during January to March 2013. Results: The research refers to two major risk factors of lifestyle - diet and exercise. Regarding eating habits, there is an excess intake of sweets and irregularities of daily meals. In terms of physical activity, lack of exercise and sedentary leisure was revealed. Significant gender differences were observed in self-perception and feelings while the girls evaluated themselves more negatively than boys. Another difference was observed in the incidence of accidents, when boys were more prone to accidents than girls. Conclusion: The collected data show that children do not know what the obesity is and what are the risk factors associated with it. The most important role is assigned to parents and to their attitude to children?s lifestyle.
